02:00 PM Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase (Listed)

An impressive win here for Reveillez, who was a negative in the market all morning but went in for favourite backers. Travelling well off a strong pace set by both Demi Beau and Kasthari, he was going best of the lot at the top of the hill, and took it up after three out. Pinging the last two, he stayed on strongly to score and looks progressive. Copsale Lad didn't jump quite as well as normal, but he showed plenty of guts and probably put up a lifetime best here, while Tumbling Dice and Direct Flight were just outstayed up the hill, the latter after being switched off by Paul Carberry. Le Volfoni was going well with every chance when crashing out three from home, while Demi Beau suffered a tired last fence exit.

Great to see Fondmort, a standing dish at Prestbury Park, win the Festival race he deserves at last, but sentiment aside this was probably his lifetime best effort in doing so. Wrong at the weights with Impek, he was always travelling well for Mick Fitzgerald, though he was off the bridle before the long time leader and AP McCoy, who looked the winners three out. But Fondmort always stays on strongly up this hill and after a mistake two out by Impek he did the job well. Lacdoudal was ridden from off the pace and under pressure before the top of the hill, ran another very good race to outstay Impek over the trip and claim second close home. Our Vic was ridden up with the pace by Timmy Murphy but couldn't go the gallop on this good ground when the tap was turned on, while Hand Inn Hand flattered to deceive.

03:15 PM Ladbrokes World Hurdle (Grade 1)

Another tremendous renewal of this contest, and a new champion in My Way De Solzen, who belied concerns over the ground with a superb resolute performance. A searching gallop was set up front by Blue Canyon and Crystal D'Ainay and it was the latter's stablemate who was able to travel well just off it. Touching down in front two out, he was always just outbattling Golden Cross up the hill and although he veered across him slightly, the stewards were never going to call an enquiry. Golden Cross ran a cracker, and there were no excuses regarding his jockey Johnny Murtagh, who proved he could cut it with the jumps boys. Mighty Man had every chance but hit a flat spot turning in and never recovered. He is undoubtedly top class but he may have a better future over fences. Baracouda was ridden patiently by AP McCoy, travelled in snatches as usual, and had every chance but this great champion was simply not good enough on the day. Ambobo had every chance but did not get home on this good ground.

04:00 PM Racing Post Plate Handicap Chase (Grade 3)

After a slow start to the meeting, Nicky Henderson and Mick Fitzgerald completed a double here with Non So, who has some thoroughly decent form to his name to bring into this race, and got what he wanted, an end to end gallop over this trip. Travelling really well throughout, he stalked stablemate Saintsaire, who tried to lead from pillar to post, and ran on well up the hill for a decisive success. Saintsaire was headed between the last two flights and took a tired fall at the last, leaving beaten Kelrev to outstay Graphic Approach for third. The form of the race looks bombproof and Non So is one to keep on the right side of now he has the confidence from this win. Bannow Strand disappointed and was pulled up before the top of the hill, while favourite Ross River and fellow Irish raider Euro Leader had already departed - at the same fence - by then.

04:40 PM Letheby & Christopher Nat Hunt Chase Novices' Cup (Amateurs)

A great ride here from very stylish amateur Richard Harding, who took it up on winner Hot Weld from the ninth, and led for around three miles to pick up the prize in good style. Always travelling well, he jumped superbly and although looking likely to come off second best to Nina Carberry on board Wolf Creek at the home turn, Hot Weld stayed on again to win it. Beantown was prominent until outpaced down the hill for the last time, but stayed on best of all to eat up the ground in the run-in for second. Far From Trouble was tenderly handled by J T McNamara, who was still sitting quietly at the last, and perhaps gave his mount too much to do. Basilea Star made a hash of the fourth last and fell, while Ardaghey took his second fall of the meeting, and Mr Babbage also unseated having travelled well enough until a mile out.

05:20 PM Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle (Listed)

A real cavalry charge here with Kadoun, one of four runners owned by J P McManus, travelling well throughout to defy a mark of 142 and score readily after taking it up at the home turn. Hordago had looked the more likely winner three out, but was simply outstayed up the hill to be second, while Oodachee also proved that it paid to race handily, finishing third after holding that position for a long way. Liberman stayed on strongly to outpoint old stager Freetown on the run-in for fourth. Favourite Olaso ran no sort of race and was pulled up after a circuit.
