Day ThreeThe feature race is the World Hurdle over the marathon 3m hurdle course, Baracouda took the race for the French in 2002 and 2003 but defending this title is a very rare occurrance. The rest of day three features 5 other top quality races including the Ryan Air Chase the festivals championship 2m5f chase. The Jewson Novice's Chase is a true test for the up and coming chasers. The Pertemps Final is a race that has a massive number entered thanks to the run in a qualifying route. The Mildmay of Flete usually has a thrilling finish and expect plenty to be in contention turning for home. The Kim Muir - Fluke Walwyn is a test of the amateur jocks and often throws up a big price or two in the frame with horses steadied early coming late to take the spoils. The Ultimate Hurdle? The World Hurdle is one of the toughest challenges in National Hunt racing for the non chasers and most agree it is the ultimate stamina test for any hurdler. The winner of this race is automatically one of the seasons stars and the jockey normally hailed as a master of race pace, the sight of a horse kicking on a spread eagling the field up the Cheltenham hill is a sight to behold! A great days racing overall where an Amateur jockey gets plenty of glory in the marathon event, but a day when thoughts are turning to the finale on Friday, a day to enjoy the racing and build your betting bank. |
