Mildmay Of Flete - Cheltenham Festival - Trends - Advice - Trends

Age

  • A close call sees the nine year olds holding an advantage based on runners to win/place ratios so in a decent each way market cross out everything else.

Recent Form and Experience

  • Rule out any runner not first or second on its last run that should  be within the last month, course experience an advantage.

Market Position

  • Although the favourite usually makes the frame and has a reasonable winning record the average winning odds are over 12/1 with 20/1+ winners not unusual, so consider the favourite but look further down the betting for some decent each/way value.

Trainers

  • Follow the big English yards in this event especially Pipes "dark" horses.

Other Positives

  • French breds have an advantage over statistics and Novices also perform well over the past 20 years.

PERFECTION: A nine year old, French bred, trained by Pipe, who's SP is over 12/1 and comes into the race fresh from a decent run within the past 30 days.
