World Hurdle - Trends

Age

  • A strong stat that says six, seven and eight year olds have a massive advantage, so confidently rule any others out of the equation.

Recent Form and Experience

  • High Class form over 3m or greater is a must, though recent form doesn't need to be winning form, that said a top four finish in the prep race is, so cross out any horse not placed in its previous run or not proven at the distance.

Market Position

  • Favourites have a good record and although there have been a few recent shock results over the long term (30 years), you should only be looking at the top three in the betting with the forecast bet combining the top three proving profitable on many occasions.

Trainers

  • No trends of any relevance as most trainer positives have been on single horses only.

Other Positives

  • A race that favours hold up horses, also horses that ran in the Long Walk hurdle during the build up generally fare well.

PERFECTION: A six, seven or eight year old, that is a hold up horse, near the top of the betting, with proven stamina and a top four finish last time out, if two of the top three fit the stats consider a forecast bet with some confidence.
